This card came about from a challenge on my demonstrators forum, the theme for the week is "blue and yellow". It was a lot of fun to do and I ended up with a bunch of these little flowers left over from playing around with the design.
So I picked out the stamp set "All Wrapped Up" and decided on Tempting Turquoise and Yoyo Yellow for the colours, the colours from the Bold Brights family really suit this style of stamp set.
I started by stamping the jar in Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, I then used the Stampin' Pastels (Tempting Turquoise) and a Sponge Dauber to rub on the water, I used the reverse masking technique to keep the card clean. By gently running a blender pen across the chalk, I managed to get a more watery effect. By placing a mask at the top of the water, I was able to get a nice crisp finish to the flower stems that were stamped using Green Galore ink.
I stamped the flowers in Basic Black ink and coloured them in using the Stampin' Pastels (Yoyo Yellow and Only Orange) and a Blender Pen. After cutting them out and playing around with the accent ones on the lower right, I adhered them in the same pattern for both the stemmed and accent flowers, on the outer two I used SNAIL Adhesive and the middle ones I popped out with Stampin' Dimesionals.
I was so happy with the end result, I photographed it, wrote in it and posted it out to a good friend of mine the very next day.
Warmest wishes for your day.
